Equality & Diversity Statement
Sutton & District Training (SDT) is an Equal Opportunities Employer
and provider of training. SDT will not discriminate or treat any
individual less favourably on the grounds of sex, marital status,
race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, disability,
age, part-time status or sexual orientation.
SDT will aim to ensure that no job applicant, staff member or
learner receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of sex,
marital status, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national
origin, disability, age, part-time status or sexual orientation.
SDT aims to ensure that people with disabilities are given equal
opportunity to enter into employment and/or training. Candidates for
employment shall be selected based on skills, experience and
qualifications only.
SDT may be required to use the Criminal Records Bureau service to
check the suitability of a candidate for a position in the company.
If a Criminal Records Bureau check is deemed necessary for the
position, all candidates should be informed that a successful
application will require the Criminal Records Bureau check to be
made. Any information disclosed by this check shall not count
against the candidate unless it is directly relevant to the position
offered.
It is the responsibility of every individual to eliminate
discrimination by ensuring the practical application of the Equal
Opportunities Policy and reporting infractions to the appropriate
person.
All allegations of discrimination will be treated seriously – such
behaviour is totally unacceptable and anyone found to be engaging in
discriminatory practices will face disciplinary action.
