European Social Funded Projects
In addition to our mainstream programmes, we also run other projects co-financed by the European Social Fund. These programmes vary in content as each programme is designed to meet specific target areas within the labour market. Below is a brief overview of the types of projects we deliver.
Summer NEET Activities:
This programme targets school leavers and provides clear advice
and guidance to ensure that these young people are supported during
the transitional stage between compulsory education and the world of
work. The programme is supplemented with a range of summer activities
such as football coaching, keep-fit and water sports. These
activities blend in with the vocational taster courses ranging from
hairdressing to construction.
Other ESF programmes have focused on support to tackle long-term unemployment. Here the main focus was placed on employment development via CV and interview techniques training sessions. Once again we employ the vocational taster courses to enhance skills and improve the life chances of the individual.
To date we have met and exceeded the target outcomes for these projects and have intervened to ensure that less learners fall into the category of not employed or in education or training, also known as the NEET group. We work in partnership with many stakeholders within the community such as Social Services, Colleges, Job Centre Plus and Connexions in an effort to ensure that NEET figures do not rise. In some instances we will lead the project and we are also willing to support other programmes in terms of providing training.
Partnerships Working
We work in partnership with a variety of organisations such as colleges, other training providers, Job Centre Plus, Connexions and employers. If your organisation is looking for a partner to assist in the delivery of a project, we would be more than happy to discuss this with you. Alternatively you may be running a programme which could enhance our service. If so we would like to hear from you.
