Designed to cultivate and refine essential skills for future professionals, our courses offer a holistic understanding of the diverse roles within a salon environment as well as the treatments and services available within this sector. 

In its 25th year, our Hairdressing qualification remains a cornerstone of Sutton and District Training. 

Course Content and Key Information:

Courses available from Entry 3 – Level 3 developing fundamental techniques like shampooing, cutting and styling to building the skill set required for advanced services such as colour correction. Our qualifications cover a wide spectrum of skills necessary for success in a hairdressing salon at all levels. Our options cater to your individual needs and aspirations.
Assessments take place in a realistic working environment, ensuring practical application of learned skills. Your progress will be documented in a comprehensive logbook, serving as formal evidence of your achievements.

Accessible for SEND:

Sutton and District Training strive to make all our vocations accessible to young people with SEND, within our hairdressing department we have Entry 3 and Level 1 qualifications which allow for learners to start their learning journey at an appropriate level, introducing them to vocational language and terminology and allowing over-teaching to solidify their learning. Entry 3 and Level 1 qualifications do not include formal assessments in cutting and colouring. However, at the tutor’s discretion these topics may be introduced. 

Learners will also have access to the Preparation for Adulthood & work skills curriculum. As well as enrichment activities and trips to Salon International and the Glamour Garage.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this course. An initial assessment will be carried out to determine the level at which is best suited for each learner. 
This is subject to change up to 6 weeks after the start date.
