Learning Support Assistant

Principle roles and responsibilities

 

  • Be confident to manage challenging behaviour. 

  • Understand behaviour as a form of communication. 

  • Be a committed team player. 

  • Support the emotional and social development of students, reporting any concerns to the Safeguarding Lead. 

  • Work with vocational tutor to devise and implement strategies to work towards outcomes identified in student EHCP. 

  • Support with planning teaching and learning sessions, this will include preparing resources and setting up environment ready for sessions.

  • Provide reports on the progress of your student/s as and when required. 

  • Prioritise daily record keeping detailing support needs and progression. 

  • Update provision maps and understand the support needs of your allocated students. 

  • Accompany learners on enrichment activities inside and outside of the classroom. 

  • Develop knowledge of the needs of the learners in class and seek advice from Victoria Douglas (Learning Support Manager). 

  • Provide regular feedback to Learning Support Manager and outside agencies about your student’s difficulties and progress.

Key Information

​

  • Hours range between 18 to 24 hours per week. 

  • Immediate and September 2024 start date.

  • £10-£14 per hour.

  • Job availability in both our Crashalton and Rosehill locations.
