Work Experience

We work with students that are ready to tackle work experience and prepare them on what to expect.
Work experience can last anytime from half a day to a couple of weeks and is designed around what the employer can offer and what time the student has. A meaningful work experience gives the learner the opportunity to explore what it is like to work in different environments, what skills are valued in the workplace, their recruitment processes and what it takes to be successful. We plan to achieve this through group visits to workplaces, work shadowing and/or work experience. These experiences could be in person or a combination of in person and virtual, where appropriate.
A meaningful experience should include:
1.
A clear purpose, which is shared with the employer and the student.
3.
Extensive two-way interactions between the student and employees.
5.
Opportunities for students to perform a task set by the employer or to produce a piece of work relevant to that workplace.
2.
Framework underpinned by learning outcomes that are appropriate to the need of the student.
4.
Opportunities for students to meet a range of different people from the workplace.
6.
Opportunities for the student to reflect on the knowledge, insights and skills they have gained through their experience.
