
Student Wellness
At Sutton District Training, student wellbeing is a key priority, and a range of supportive services are available to promote health, confidence, and personal growth. These options ensure that every student feels supported throughout their learning journey, both in and out of the classroom.

Zen Den
A dedicated quiet space for students to regulate whenever they need to. The calming atmosphere helps students come to terms with their emotions and helps to recalibrate their day to get their learning back on track.

Mock Flat - Preparation for Adulthood
A mock flat that simulates tasks that adults need to tackle on a daily basis. Things such as making a bed, doing laundry, washing up, ironing and other household chores can all be carried out under supervision.

Wellbeing Cupboards
Items such as clothing, toiletries and long-life food is accessible to students as and when they are needed, ensuring that our students basic needs are met. Discreet access can be provided.

Councillor Sessions
Once a week, a councillor comes in to students who feel the need to talk to a professional. 6 weeks of one hour sessions are available. All counselling is confidential unless a safeguarding concern becomes apparent.

Animal Therapy
Once a term, a range of animals such as reptiles, furry animals, farm animals, birds and insects make their way to Sutton and District Training; a day everyone looks forward to. Students are invited to spend time learning, interacting and holding the animals.

Art Therapy
Students have the opportunity to get creative and express themselves through art. Whether students want to learn artistic techniques or relax by doodling, dedicated sessions are available for students to get involved with.
