Since openeing our Brighton Center, Ash Cottage, in September 2016, our main focus has always been to ensure our students are supported to achieve and progress by undertaking courses which are focused on their academic success and personal development. Located just 15 minutes from Brighton City center, Ash Cottage contiunes to grow and improve under center manager, Astrid Holm. All of our students are given a high level of pastoral support within the centre by trained and supportive staff. As a small and nurturing college, we pride ourselves in offering personalised support, tailored to the learners educational needs and pace of learning. We want to empower them with the essential skills needed to transition into the workforce or go on to further education.

STEPS - Employability

Entry 2 to Level 1

STEPS follows a ‘Preparation for Adulthood’ curriculum helping students develop their social, emotional and independence skills. Our aim is to build confidence and implement coping strategies for everyday life, whilst completing an Employability qualification in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Students will focus on real-life skills. Whether it’s learning how to get around town, figuring out how to access local services, getting better at working in teams or prepping for interviews, students will be gaining useful knowledge and hands-on experience to help you feel confident about facing the real world.

Effective communication skills, including active listening, clear verbal and written communication and conflict resolution are some of the vital skills needed in a customer service role. These are the skills that STEPs Customer Service aims to install into all of our students, providing them with best toolkit for the working world.
